Enneagram Typing Interviews

Why an Interview?

With all of the various quizzes and information online, why pay for an interview?

  1. Accuracy: Online tests can be a place to start, and sometimes they come back with an accurate result. But sometimes you take one quiz on one site and get one result, and then you take it again on a different site (or sometimes even the same one!) and get a different result. It’s difficult for a quiz to get at the underlying motivations to thoughts and behavior. With a typing interview, you get the benefit of being asked “why” by someone who knows how to understand your answer.
  2. Efficiency: There is so much information out there — some of it excellent, and some of it misguided. It takes a lot of time and mental energy to sort through and understand something as complex as the Enneagram in a way that is useful. Doing a typing interview with a trained practitioner provides a path forward with more clarity in less time.
  3. Personalized: There truly is no substitute for a person-to-person interaction to narrow in on your type. My typing interviews are done in a narrative way — meaning I get to hear your answer through dialog rather than answering something multiple choice. Much can be gained in determining your type in the experience of the interview itself. Not just the answers to the questions, but HOW you answer the questions. What’s said and not said. Non-verbals. My sense of you. All of these things add up to being able to get you closer to landing on your correct typing.

What to Expect

The interview will be approximately 60 minutes in length. I will ask a series of questions designed to help us narrow in on your Enneagram type. At the end of the session, I’ll give you feedback based on what I was hearing throughout the session about the top types I would consider for you and why. Depending on the interview, I may have a strong idea of a particular type for you to further explore, or I might feel split between two (and sometimes three) types. Because discovering your type is a personal journey, this interview is meant to give you some further direction to identify your own type. If you want time to further explore this with me, we can set up an additional session as well.
